Navigational Rallying kicks off again in September 2026!

Join us this September for the first Beginner’s Navigational Rally events of the 2026/27 season, designed to help newcomers learn the basics, build confidence and get involved.

Following the enthusiasm and great feedback from our beginner navigational rally sessions last season, we’re excited to offer another opportunity to learn, practice, and get involved this September. Whether you’re completely new or looking to build confidence before entering competitive events, these events are designed to be supportive, enjoyable, and beginner-friendly.

Tabletop Rally at the Claydon Greyhound, just outside Ipswich – Tuesday 8 September

A relaxed, hands-on evening focused on plotting, map reading, and solving navigation clues. Perfect for anyone wanting to build navigational skills before tackling the lanes. No experience needed. We teach you everything!

Beginner 12-Car Rally, surrounding villages to Ipswich (Shotley Peninsula) – Friday 25 September

A brilliant opportunity to put your new skills into practice in a fun, supportive environment. Starting and finishing at Freston Village Hall (IP9 1AF). 12-car rallies are a beginner-friendly form of motorsport where a driver and navigator work together to follow a route using map-based clues. It’s not about speed, it’s about:

  • Navigation
  • Teamwork
  • Problem-solving
  • Having fun!

There’ll be plenty of time and support for you to plot the route on your map. Then, using your everyday road car, you’ll follow a set route around the Suffolk countryside, spotting code boards and visiting checkpoints along the way. This is a non-competitive event. Refreshments will be served at the finish.

We encourage crews to attend the Tabletop Rally on 8 September, but if you can’t make it, no problem. We can send training materials in advance, and there will be plenty of people on hand during the event to help.

Looking ahead
Further beginner events will take place in November, with another Tabletop Rally on Tuesday 3 November and a Beginner’s 12-Car Rally on Friday 27 November. They’re perfect opportunities to gain confidence and develop new skills ahead of the club’s 12-car rally series running throughout the autumn, winter and spring 2026 and 2027.
